The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist has the responsibility to administer safe analgesia and anesthesia under the supervision of an anesthesiologist or physician. The CRNA will provide resuscitation services throughout the hospital. The CRNA will demonstrate an awareness of the objectives of PNHS and the department and will participate in attaining those goals. Education/Experience: Graduate from an approved School of Nursing and from an approve School of Anesthesia. Baccalaureate degree in nursing and master’s degree in anesthesia or related-field preferred. Participates in one’s professional organization (desirable). Special Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/Licenses: Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Minnesota. Certified by the Council on Certification or Board eligible. Currently recertified by the Council on Recertification of the AANA. Fulfill credentialing requirements of PNHS. BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines. Effective communication skills. Demonstrates knowledge of age related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients. Computer keyboarding (desirable)
Additional Position Summary Detail:
This position is in a fast paced, dynamic, orthopedic same day surgery center that requires a team centered individual that is a self-starter, flexible, self-sufficient, adaptable, efficient and possess good communication skills. Someone that will contribute to the larger good of the institution and the performance of the entire team in providing and continually developing the best possible care processes for our patients.
Required experience: In-patient hospital CRNA (5+ yrs), Same Day Surgery, delivering TIVA anesthetics, proficient IV skills, and excellent staff and patient/family communication skills.
Preferred experience: minimum of 1-2 years of pediatric anesthesia experience (Ages 5 and up)
Working location TRIA: Bloomington and Woodbury; as and where needed.
State licensure as an APRN currently licensed in the state of Minnesota. Certified in BLS, ACLS, and PALS upon application or complerted before starting. Computer keyboarding and electronic documentation skills preferred (EPIC).
